What is a 'munch'?
The Asj community hosts 'munches' for those in the lifestyle to get together and meet with others in the lifestyle. A munch is a great way to meet and get to know others that share common interests, I urge you to join us at our next munch.
Discussions and topics I'm sure will abound, but the primary purpose of this get together is to meet others in real life, share common opinions and experiences as well get to see that we're all real people. This is an excellent opportunity for novices in the lifestyle to learn just a bit more about what this lifestyle is all about. Munches are not play parties, nor is there any obligation or even an opportunity for people to play or scene.
I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming munch. Although it's not required, don't forget to drop Me an e-mail and let Me know if you're planning on attending so we can reserve an appropriate number of seats/tables!
Who should attend, what should I wear?
"Munches" are always held in a public place, such as a local restaurant. Fetish wear is considered inappropriate, if worn, you'll definitely feel out of place. To someone observing our group, it simply appears like friends or a club meeting for coffee. A minimum age of 18 is required, if you appear to be under about 22 years old, please do not be offended if we ask you for identification to participate in our group.
Munches are an excellent opportunity to meet others in
the lifestyle, chat with them in person and generally learn more
of what this lifestyle is all about. The munches are open
to anyone wanting to
attend, regardless of role (Dominants, Masters, Tops, submissives, slaves,
bottoms or just curious), and yes, of course, feel
free to bring a friend.
How Much Does it cost?
There is no cost, other than the cost of your
coffee or meal
(please, consider leaving a tip for
the waiter/waitress). Generally, we will use a banquet
room, or a corner of the restaurant to allow for
a bit more privacy, but always the munch remains
in a public place! This adds to the comfort factor for those attending a munch
for the first time. Alcoholic beverages are considered inappropriate and
will not be permitted.
Membership in the Asj Online Community is not required,
but we'll never turn it down.

It's been a hectic summer, but things are finally starting to slow down a bit, watch for our winter 2011 Munch schedule to be posted here soon!

Is there a munch in my area?
Geographically and practically speaking, it's almost impossible for the Asj community to host a munch in all of the places people would be interested in attending. However, check the Asj Resource Page to find out more about groups in your area. Or if you would be interested in assisting us by hosting a munch in your area, contact CJ and we'll try to help you to get an Asj sponsored munch started in your area. Others have hosted these in the past and they have proved quite successful.

The topics of conversation at our munches will usually vary greatly, however, the posted topic or theme for discussion for this month's much is: "Welcome to the Lifestyle" An overview of the D/s Lifestyle and the resources available to you to explore the lifestyle. Although especially geared towards those that are either new to the Lifestyle, or the Asj Communities, This will prove to be a valuable forum to all, regardless of your level of exprience. Don't let the title fool you!
