Welcome to The Sanctuary Vidrew

Posted on January 20th, 2012 by CJ

The Sanctuary Vidrew is where we have placed the Home Stone of the Gorean Community within the A submissives journey web site and online communities.  While for the most part, the Sanctuary Vidrew does follow the works of John Norman, we have attempted to blend a bit of reality along with the information, styles, concepts, protocols and philosophies found in the books of Gor.   With the consideration that as written, society here on Earth will not permit us to live as the novels depict the Gorean way of Life; We have taken the Gorean word, Vidrew, meaning truth, and used it in the naming and  formulation of our own version of the Gorean Lifestyle which we truly believe is livable here on Earth in todays' society.  There are many that attempt to explore the world of Gor as nothing more than an online role play game.  Here in the Sanctuary Vidrew, most of those you'll find are actually living, or at least trying to live the Gorean Lifestyle within the constraints imposed upon the realities of society.

While you may find what appears to be role play, such as in the chat room serves and dances, you'll find subtle inferences and differences taking reality into consideration.  If however, you've come to the Sanctuary strictly for role play, you're probably in for a disappointment. If you're truly desiring to learn and live the Gorean Lifestyle, regardless of role, Master or slave, I believe you'll find the Sanctuary most welcoming as the wonders of what the Gorean Lifestyle offers unfold before you.  I invite you to visit our Home and consider making it your Home as well.

"In peasant villages on this world," he continued, "each hut was originally built around a flat stone which was placed in the center of the circular dwelling. It was carved with the family sign and was called the Home Stone. It was, so to speak, a symbol of sovereignty, or territory, and each peasant, in his own hut, was a sovereign."

Tarnsman of Gor, 2:26

It is a rock, usually a simple looking stone on which a letter is carved although as rich a stone as a topaz has been used. It is the center of many rituals, myths, beliefs and even laws. It is said that none would ever stand in the way of a man carrying a Home Stone, first as a show of the deep respect which the Home Stone commands, and second, for the fierceness with which it would be defended.

Gorean slaves

Posted on January 21st, 2012 by CJ

There are numerous types of Gorean slaves, as detailed in the World of Gor series by John Norman. Although outsiders assume all Gorean slaves serve sexual purposes, they do not. The purpose of all Gorean slaves in the World of Gor series is to fulfill the purposes of his or her owner, which includes very practical purposes such as cleaning the house and completing minuscule bookkeeping duties. According to the Kajira Forum, the majority of Gorean slaves are women.
