Why the Hurry?
As I teach both Masters and submissives about the lifestyle I find an urgency in them to want all the answers now.... LOL. Well, twenty-five years after I started this lifestyle I find that I do not have all the answers. There are several reasons. Each person and each couple is different. They have different needs and levels. What is good for me is not necessarily good for them, so I help them make their own discoveries so their own journey will bring the happiness they seek.
As a rule of thumb, I can tell you that it takes about one year for a Master / submissive to work through all the things they need to work through... LOL... but VT does help speed that up because we are so much more open here....in RT...well, it just takes us longer because we have let others and society teach us NOT to be open.....and so in RT the Master and submissives have a harder time tearing down the walls that we have subconsciously built within ourselves.
So, remember that in a new relationship as D/s we are all babies....do not be impatient! Crawl, walk, then run.....the long lasting D/s relationship is a marathon.... not a sprint! Although we don't win every marathon, the journey sure lets us see and enjoy the beautiful jewels that we share as human beings with each other and if things do not work out.... and they do many times.... at least we have those jewels in our heart that we can take out, smile and remember the Touch of Master and the gem of submission given. So patience as you grow together in symbiosis.... smiling at my long windedness this day....it is a marathon worth running for the prize is more beautiful than the Hope diamond.
